The tile is the star of this design story. With a nod to the 70's, the back splash tile is a true orange and burnt red with these funny three dimensional decorative tiles with ridges. They jut out about a half an inch, so you can't display much on them and when we found these army men striking yoga poses, we knew they had a home in this exuberant kitchen. The cabinetry is walnut and the floor tile is hatch marks that creates an area rug of sorts in tile. The kitchen opens to the dining room where there was an existing built-in and I fabricated her vintage trivet collection into bold hardware for this nondescript cabinet.
